Bruchergarten
Landgarten von Jutta und Michael Bongers am Niederrhein

Winter guests

For many years, geese visit the Lower Rhine at the beginning of winter to spend the winter here. According to figures from the various bird stations, there are now about 170,000 migratory birds.
We are located with the Bruchergarten in the middle of fields and rolling hills and observe an increasing number of incoming geese around us, which are already very colorful in color – apart from the loud chattering on arrival and departure. Out of interest, I have tried to photograph the geese and to research who visited us there.
So that my research on the fantastic site www.wildgaense-niederrhein.de of the biological station is correct, we are currently visited by three different geese, of which I do not know the correct english translation. In the picture gallery you can see that there are about 100 birds that gather here in the morning and in the evening.
