Beginning of September is the perfect time to start the pumpkin harvest.
For several years we have been putting pumpkin seeds into our big composters.
The big leaves of the plants cover and hide the composter on the one hand. On the other hand, there are enough nutrients and space for the pumpkins to grow. So we were able to harvest around 30 nice pumpkins in a blue/grey colour. In addition, a few calabashes – which we have passed on an old wooden ladder.
